iMethods is currently seeking a Nursing Informatics Manager for a healthcare setting here in Jacksonville, Florida.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
- In collaboration with the Department of Nursing, Information Systems, Hospital Information Management Directors, Medical Staff Office, and other ancillary departments, the Nursing Informatics manager will participate in the planning, implementation, and support of all clinical informatics projects.
- The Nursing Informatics Manager will report directly to the CNO, with matrix reporting to the Chief Medical Information Officer, the primary responsibilities of the Nursing Informatics manager will include support for Cerner clinical applications and other computer systems supporting patient care.
- The Nursing Informatics manager would be responsible for the Sr. Clinical Informatics Specialists, Clinical Informatics Specialists, Clinical Informatics Forms Coordinator and the Informatics Learning Coordinator.
- The Nursing Informatics Manager will support the standardization, quality, and optimization of clinical computing within the Cerner environment as well as being responsible for ensuring optimum planning of IS projects and resources, and be responsible for the defining the training and support of clinical personnel in the use of information technology.
- The Nursing Informatics Manager will manage Healthcare Informatics staff as well as EMR work associated with clinical process, core measures, quality, risk, compliance and patient safety.
- Additionally, the Nursing Informatics Manager will help guide and advise the IT clinical initiatives throughout the organization in order to incorporate evidence-based care into clinical practice. Coordinate regulatory, evidence-based best practice, and clinical performance improvement initiatives that are to be supported with technological solutions and/or process changes.
- The Nursing Informatics Manager will assists with capital and operating budgets for Healthcare Informatics, assists with cost savings initiatives when requested
- The Nursing Informatics Manager will be responsible for both facility based and system nursing informatics.
PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelors Degree (BSN) required, Masters Degree preferred and an expert level of experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Extensive managerial experience in complex clinical programs involving the use of electronic order entry, clinical documentation, and medication management.
- The candidate must be willing to learn new software applications as necessary and must be able to apply clinical knowledge to assist in improving existing healthcare systems and/or building new clinically-focused applications.
- Experience within a fully digital EMR system. Experience with Cerner Millennium preferred.
- Strong program development skills and ability to analyze and assess informatics needs and have experience with educational programs.
- Experience guiding the clinical design, planning, implementation and coordination of the EMR across the health system for clinical users. Proven experience delivering quality projects on time and on budget.
- Experience promoting the development and implementation of EMR competency.
- Experience directing personnel activities including, but not limited to, hiring, promotions, performance appraisals, professional growth, disciplinary action, transfers licensure, and certification.
EXPERIECE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- RN/BSN licensure
- EMR system Go-Live implementation experience
- A combination of healthcare operations experience and implementation of clinical IS systems.
- Excellent communication, team and interpersonal skills are required.
- Good time management and organizational skills will be required to effectively perform the position
- Experience with desktop applications such as word processing; spreadsheets, databases and process flow design is necessary
- Registered Nurse with excellent communication skills and familiarity with Cerner Millennium and all Microsoft Office products (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Cerner Millennium Suite a big plus
- Strong Leadership / Management skills
